Map of Tripura

Tripura is the second smallest states in India and also one of the most ancient among the princely states. Encompassing a sensitive border zone where India meets Bhutan, China, Myanmar and Bangladesh, the region is remote as only the narrow Siliguri corridor connects it to the rest of India.Completely off the beaten track, Tripura is mainly hilly with altitudes ranging from 50 to 3080 ft. The state is a storehouse of tribal crafts and culture that includes music and dance. The population here is predominantly Bengali, and also includes 19 scheduled tribes who live in elevated bamboo houses called Tong'.
